In the early 90s several artists started creating their own Chicano art graphics and putting them on t-shirts, one of those artists included the Lafarga family. What sets apart their style from others like David Gonzales, C&H, TDAG & others is their rawness and more prison style artistic take on the drawings. There is more use of Mexican Identity symbols, like aztec figures, religious figures, and landscape scenery.

The relationship between Fernando & Joaquin is still unknown, they could be sibilings, father & son or cousins. What is known is that there are about 25-30 T-shirt Graphics that were created under the Lafarga trademark, most of which were done by fernando in the earlier years 1990-99 and the rest by Joaquin who would go under the name Nite Owl Art in the 2000s
